RUBLYOVO- ARKHANGELSKOYE COMPETITION

Archea Associati | In progress

Archea Associati was the winner of the international competition by invitation for the masterplan of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskoye district, an area west of Moscow covering over 4 million square meters in a 463-hectare expanse along the Moskva River. The plan envisioned a multifunctional area with diverse functions, including residential and offices, in which the square took on the role of connector between the multiple actions part of the planning. Archea focused on the idea of public space as a relationship between activities and socialization; its goal was to give the city a place to discover and understand as a landmark that is not just geographic but also a hub of the functions it holds within.

The site plan design is interesting where the curved lines in the center of the square interface with the buildings' elegant, angular sections. The public area extends on the 30-hectare lake and was envisioned for use in all seasons, adapting activities  to the weather. The buildings, each with a different height from the other, create a captivating skyline and look like stones set within the square; the base is a ribbon that dialogues with the elements, encompassing the viewer in a boulevard with outdoor theaters, retail areas, and other activities planned for different levels. The Core Financial Center is organized as a thriving center, an area that is recognizable as a space for everyone, changeable and dynamic.
Its podium holds and conveys actions in a place designed for the society of today and the future.
